For HVAC contractors
HVAC changeout testing, registered the same day
Replacing an air conditioner, furnace or heat pump in California usually triggers California Energy Code Compliance field testing before the permit can be finalled. We schedule the same week, test on site and register the CF3R the same day.
What a changeout usually requires
When space-conditioning equipment is replaced, the alteration provisions of Title 24 Part 6 generally require the ducts and the new system to be verified by a certified California Energy Code Compliance rater — the program formerly known as HERS. The exact scope depends on the equipment, the climate zone and whether ducts are replaced or altered.
- Duct leakage testing on the existing or new duct system
- Refrigerant charge verification on split systems
- System airflow and fan watt draw where required
- CF3R registered with an approved data registry
- Results sent to the contractor the same day
- Specific repair guidance if a test fails, then a fast re-test
Why contractors use us
Final inspection cannot pass without a registered CF3R, so every day a verification waits is a day the job stays open. We schedule changeouts in the same week — often within 48 hours in Southern California — and file on the day of the test. When a system fails, we tell your technician exactly where the duct system is losing air rather than reporting only a number.
