Are HERS ratings and BPI testing included with California Energy Code Compliance field testing?
No. California Energy Code Compliance field testing required by the Energy Code is our core service. HERS Index ratings and BPI testing are additional services, quoted separately at an extra cost — call (213) 536-9392 for details.
What is a HERS Index?
A HERS Index compares a home with a reference home built to code, which scores 100. Lower is more efficient, and 0 is a net-zero energy home. Ratings are used by ENERGY STAR, DOE Zero Energy Ready Home and incentive programs.
What does BPI testing cover?
Building Performance Institute diagnostics assess the home as a system — air leakage, combustion safety, insulation and HVAC performance — to guide retrofits and upgrades.
